An examination of how and why Daniel Tracey (1794-1832), editor of the reform Montreal Irish newspaper The Vindicator in the late 1820s, editorially championed the Turkish cause in the Ottoman's conflict with Russia, and how Tracey linked this issue to Irish and Lower Canadian politics.
