L'inégalité sociale face à la mortalité à Montréal, 1975-1977
Abstract
An examination of the death rates in thirteen municipalities, grouped into five economic zones, on the island of Montreal in the mid-1970s. Examined by the author were Montreal, Verdun, LaSalle, St-Laurent, Montréal-Nord, Anjou, St-Léonard, Westmount, Outremont, Mont-Royal, Côte-St-Luc, Hamstead and Montreal West. For the connumities of Outremont, Westmount, Mont-Royal, Hamstead, Côte-St-Luc, and Montreal West, where 62 percent of the population spoke English, life expectancy was 76.8 years. In south-central Montreal, where nine percent of the population spoke English, life expectancy was 63 years.
