Abstract
A detailed biography of Thomas D'Arcy McGee (1825-1868), an Irish immigrant who became a Father of Confederation. McGee was considered to be the representative of the Irish Catholic population of Quebec in the federal government. He was assassinated in Ottawa on April 7, 1868, supposedly by a Fenian sympathizer.
