Abstract |
St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church was established by Rev. John Merlin of Northern Ireland in 1823. The first services were held in a school in Scriver's Corners (Hemmingford's original name). In 1842 a stone church was built north of the village. With an increase in the size of the congregation, it was decided that a new building was required. In 1872, a brick church at 519 Champlain Street was constructed and continues to serve its congregation to the present day.
