Histoires de langues : Montréal, a once-divided city. La logeuse d'Eric Dupont, et Heroine de Gail Scott
|
Abstract |
An analysis of two Montreal-centered novels -- Eric Dupont's La longeuse and Gail Scott's Heroine -- to show that it is possible to compare French and English literature texts within the context of Montreal. The author argues that in the context of Montreal, language can create a specificity when it is not a pretext to division but a sign of reconciliation.
