Title
Gallicism, Anglo-Saxonism and Quebec Education
Abstract
French-speaking and English-speaking Quebecers have a long held contrasting views of education, according to the author. He maintains that these views are products of different cultural legacies. French Quebecers are cultural heirs to the Gallic traditions of rationalism, codified laws and centralism, while English Quebecers draw inspiration from the Anglo-Saxon legacy of empiricism, common law and localism.
