Title
Jewish School Question - Protestant School Board: 1920-1930
Abstract
A brief explanation of the divisive debate over separate Jewish schools in Montreal in the 1920s and 1930s, known as the "Jewish School Question". The debate fuelled years of negotiations, court battles and heated public debate among Protestants, Catholics and Jews. It also further split an already fractured Montreal Jewish community along social and economic lines.
