Abstract |
In 1845, William Price (1789-1867) was a timber merchant who owned or controlled lumber mills on the Saguenay and the north shore of Quebec from La Malbaie to Rivière-Noir. One of the north shore mills was on Rivière Mitis. A village sprung up at the site, known as Price Mills. The author describes the archaeological work undertaken at the site.
