| Abstract |
The author points out that St. Mark's Chapel, on the campus of Bishop's University and Champlain College in Lennoxville, is a remarkable example of nineteenth-century neo-Gothic collegiate architecture. Consecrated in 1857, the chapel remains a highly representative component of the original vocation of Bishop's University, which was to train Anglican ministers and offer young Anglophones the benefits of a solid liberal arts education. The author outlines the history of the chapel's three organs, especially the 1893 organ, built by Warren of Toronto and completely renovated by Casavant Frères de Saint-Hyacinthe in 1940.
