| Abstract |
A series of letters written in 1874 between Montreal's Anglican Bishop and Metropolitan, Ashton Oxenden (1808-1892), and the Rector of the Anglican Parish of Montreal (St. Luke's), Canon Maurice S. Baldwin (1836-1904), in which the Bishop outlines his complaint that the Parish character of the Anglican Church (of which Baldwin had charge) was superseding the Cathedral character of the church (of which Oxenden wanted supremacy).
