Abstract |
Montreal's Black Theatre Workshop, established in 1972, is today Canada's longest standing professional Black theatre company. It began as the amateur Trinidad and Tobago Drama Group, but split off to focus on the development of new works by Black Canadian authors. The author outlines the history and evolution of the Workshop and of the plays that the company of actors, musicians and dancers have produced over the years.
