Title
Anatomically Incorrect: Bodysnatching in the Nineteenth Century
Abstract
Over the course of the nineteenth century, as more and more students enrolled in medicine, and as surgery became increasingly important to the medical profession, the demand for anatomical subjects far outstripped the number that could be legally provided. The author outlines how McGill medical students took their education into their own hands by turning to grave robbing.
