Reaction: A Portrait of a Society in Crisis
|
Abstract |
English-speaking Quebecers express their personal reactions to the October Crisis of 1970 when French Quebec nationalism took a violent turn. The crisis erupted when British diplomat James Cross was kidnapped and Quebec cabinet minister Pierre Laporte was murdered by members of the Front de libération du Québec (FLQ). The documentary captures the discussions and analyses of the situation that went on wherever English-speaking people gathered, voicing their attitudes and fears, sympathies and concerns.
