Title
The Milton Park Affair: Canada's Largest Citizen-Developer Confrontation
Abstract
One area of Montreal's inner-city, the Milton-Park district, also known as the McGill Student Ghetto, was acquired by Concordia Estates Development Company between 1958 and 1968. Their development plans did not take into consideration the local community living in the area. The fight to save Milton Park forced the developer and Montreal City Hall to change their plans for the district.
