Abstract |
An examination of the association of Montreal's nineteenth century Jewish community with the Mechanic's Institute. Among the Jewish community members associated with the Mechanic's Institute during this period were Aaron Philip Hart (1724-1800), Samuel Joseph (d. 1832), Jesse Joseph (1817-1904), Jacob Henry Joseph, Moses Judah Hays (1799-1861), and Abraham de Sola (1825-1882).
