Abstract |
On July 27, 1851, Henry Wilkes (1805-1886), pastor of the Congregationalist Zion Church in Montreal, delivered a sermon entitle “Jesus, the Devine Messiah: An Address to the Jews”. The author contends that this was the first time that a Canadian clergyman called on the Jews to accept Jesus as the Messiah and to convert to Christianity.
