The Argenteuil Rangers Morin Company, 1862-1911 : Their motto was No Surrender
|
Abstract |
The Argenteuil Rangers were organized in 1862 by Sir John Abbott (1821-1893), who would later serve as Canada's fourth Prime Minister. The Rangers were a cavalry force whose only military "action" was to be called out in 1866 to help repel the Irish American Fenians, although they never actually took part in any fighting. The Rangers were disbanded in 1911.
