| Abstract |
A study of the action and motives of Notre-Dame-de-Grâce's town council prior to the west-end suburb's annexation to Montreal in 1910. This pre-annexation municipal government determined when NDG's growth might "take off", the land use, the economic level of new inhabitants, and about what axis builders would concentrate the best homes. The author argues that these decisions affected the suburb long after it became part of the City of Montreal.
