| Abstract |
The Missiskoui Standard, a Tory-sympathizing weekly newspaper based in the Eastern Township's village of Frelighsburg, was co-founded on April 8, 1835 by James Moir Ferres and Joseph D. Gilman. Under Ferres' editorship, which lasted until December 1836, the paper took a strongly anti-Patriotes policy, especially towards that party's 92 Resolutions. The paper lasted until April 23, 1839.
