Vers une relecture comparée du Second Rouleau de A. M. Klein et de La Québécoite de Régine Robin
Abstract
A comparative examination of Montreal poet and novelist A.M. Klein's The Second Scroll (1951) and the Paris-born Régine Robin's novel La Québécoite (1993). Klein's novel, about meaning in the post-Holocaust world, followers an unnamed narrator, a Montreal journalist and editor, searching for his long-lost uncle, a Holocaust survivor, in post-war Italy, Morocco, and Israel. Robin's novel outlines her difficult integration in Montreal and the figure of the immigrant in the Quebec social context.
