Is There a Future for the Montreal Jewish Community?
|
Abstract |
The author warns that French Quebec cultural imperialism is a threat to cultural minorities in Montreal, including Jews. He describes restraints placed on Anglophones in Quebec, and asserts that these restraints will make it extremely difficult for Jewish professionals to relocate from elsewhere into Quebec to work either in business or in Jewish communal service. Jewish organizations will also be severely constrained, says the author, due to imposed government control of health and social services functions.
