Abstract
The University Magazine (1907-1920) was a Montreal quarterly edited by Andrew Macphail (1864-1938), which succeeded the semiannual McGill University Magazine (1901-1906). The basic themes found in the McGill University Magazine/University Magazine were support for imperialism, limited support of social reform, and a conservative view of society which emphasized moral and social values. The author examines how literary historians have viewed this magazine.
