Abstract
An analysis of the Montreal Engineering Company, founded in 1907, and its relationship with its parent company, Royal Securities Corporation. Between 1907 and 1939, these St. James Street companies had established integrated electrical utilities in Bolivia, Venezuela, El Salvador and Newfoundland. Montreal Engineering also built the tramway system in Cuba and the hydroelectric plant and electric railway in Puerto Rico.
