|
Abstract |
A description of the house built in 1813-1815 for David Ross (1770-1837) and his wife Jane Davidson (1789-1866) overlooking Montreal’s Champ de Mars, described as perhaps the grandest town residence in British North America. It was built in the fashionable Neoclassical style and stood as a Montreal landmark for over 140 years when it was demolished in 1952 to make way for a gas station and parking lot.
