Abstract |
Established in Montreal in 1973 by Roy Heenan, Peter Blaikie and Donald Johnson, lawyers in the firm practiced in the areas of business, labour and employment, litigation, taxation, entertainment law and intellectual property law. Johnston left to become a Member of Parliament in 1978 and the firm was renamed Heenan Blaikie. The firm began to suffer financial trouble in 2013, senior partners began leaving the firm, and on February 5, 2014, it voted to dissolve the practice. Until 2013, the author was one of two co-managing partners at the law firm.
