Abstract |
Sport in Montreal during the nineteenth century was the history of English, Irish and Scottish Quebecers. The author examines the predominant place of English-speaking, white collar middle class Montrealers, first as participants and always as organizers of organized sports. The author also notes the predominance of residents of Montreal's St. Antoine ward in organized sports.
