Abstract
The cultural life of the south side of Kingsmere Lake in the Gatineau Hills in the early twentieth century, revolving around two cottages owned by the Jenkins and the McCurry families. These neighbouring properties became the focal point and meeting place for artists, musicians and writers, including A.Y. Jackson, Arthur Lismer, Goodridge Roberts and Marius Barbeau.
