A history of the settlement of Point St. Charles, a working class neighbourhood of Montreal, during the second half of the nineteenth century. The author focusses on three representatives families who settled in the area during this period: the Irish Catholic Mullins family, the Scottish Protestant Turnbull family, and the French Canadian Catholic Galarneau family.
