Les Italiens de Montréal, la Seconde Guerre mondiale et le fascisme : transferts culturels et littéraires
|
Abstract |
The author examines the behaviour of the Italian community in Montreal during the Second World War and evaluates the impact of the strategies implemented by Canada in reaction to marches supporting fascism and Mussolini’s policy. He contends that an analysis of Filippo Salvatore’s play La Fresque de Mussolini (1985) demonstrates how the Italian-Montreal author has reconstructed in this dramatic piece the history of the iconic fresco found in the Italian church Nostra Signora della Difesa built in 1910 in Montreal's Little Italy.
