Title
Planification et rationalité : le cas de l'aménagement du Mont Royal
Abstract
The Town of Mount Royal was founded in 1912. The Canadian Northern Railway built the town as a corporate suburb that was planned, designed and developed as a real estate venture to help offset the costs of building a railway tunnel into the centre of Montreal. Frederick G. Todd (1876-1948) produced the urban design plan for this Montreal bedroom suburb to reflect the international "model city" or "garden city" movements espoused by Frederick Law Olmsted, Jr. and Henry Vivian.
