|
| Abstract |
The article features a motion picture theater of the Allen Theatre Chain in Montreal. Designed by architect Charles Howard Crane (1885-1952), the theater was opened in 1920. Crane included a decorative treatment inspired by the Italian Renaissance in the design. The theater had a grand foyer and a capacity of 2,500 people. Theodore Jagmin and Emmanuel Briffa painted a frieze along the upper walls of the auditorium.
