Abstract |
A series of letters written by Francis Maseres (1731-1824), Attorney-General of Quebec from 1766 to 1769, to Fowler Walker, the London agent of the English-speaking merchants in Quebec. Maseres has been described as the "champion" of the mercantile element in the British colony. The book also contains a biography of Maseres, written by the editor, outlining his career in the province as well as his political viewpoints.
