L'évolution de la ségrégation linguistique à Montréal, 1961-1981

Abstract |
Between 1961 and 1981, as the economic and social status of Montreal Francophones improved considerably, they began to immigrate to the city's West Island suburbs, traditionally the residential areas of the city's middle-class Anglophone residents. At the same time, because the political and economic climate was no longer favourable to non-Francophones, middle-class Anglophones began to emigrate from Montreal to other provinces, thus freeing up houses on the West Island.
