Abstract
Blanche Lemco van Ginkel, born in London, England, in 1923 and a graduate of McGill University in 1945, is a pioneering Canadian architect and urban planner. The author focuses on Ms. Van Ginkel’s association with the most important planning projects in Montreal during the 1960s. In collaboration with H.P. Daniel van Ginkel, their planning proposals determined the direction of the future growth of Montreal, including the restoration of Old Montreal and the initial planning of Expo 67.
