Abstract
Divided by provinces, pages 73 to 272 of this bibliography deals with both French- and English-language Quebec cookbooks. The author includes an introductory essay (pages 73 to 81) on the history and evolution of cooking and cookbooks in Quebec. The first cookbook written by an English Quebecer was "Household Recipes or Domestic Cookery by a Montreal Lady", published in 1865. The author was Mrs. Hannah Constance Hart.
