Includes the local history of Potton Township. Colonization of Potton Township in Brome County began around 1790 with the arrival of Loyalists and other Americans from Vermont in search of cheap land. Mansonville was founded in 1811 by Robert Manson. The Municipality of Potton Township was created in 1855.
