| Abstract |
A biographical sketch of the editor of the Montreal newspaper The Vindicator. The Irish-born Daniel Tracey (c.1795-1832) was a reformer and supporter of Louis-Joseph Papineau and his Patriote movement. Tracey opposed the system of government which allowed the predominately English-speaking Chateau Clique to dominate the Legislative Council. Tracey died from cholera that swept through Montreal in 1832.
