A Study Comparing Factors Associated with the Selection or Rejection of Teaching by English-Speaking Catholic and Protestant High School Students in the Montreal Area
|
Abstract |
From a study of a group of Anglophone Montreal-area grade eleven students in 1966, the author concluded that English-speaking Catholic students considered teaching an upwardly mobile profession, while English-speaking Protestant students thought it a downwardly mobile occupation. The author concluded that the differences was thought to be due to religious affiliation and the socio-economic status of the two groups.
