| Abstract |
Marked by a dual tradition, both French and British, the author notes that the development of pharmacy in Quebec accelerated in the 19th and 20th centuries when the field of medicine underwent major transformations. She explains that the therapeutic revolution, the rise of the pharmaceutical industry, economic transformations and government reforms eventually plunged pharmacy into an identity crisis from which it emerged quite transformed at the dawn of the 21st century.
