Abstract
The Montreal & Southern Counties company was incorporated in 1897, but construction on the electrical passenger and freight service between Montreal and St. Lambert only commenced in 1908. The railway began running in October 1909. By 1916, the rail line reached as far as Granby, and by 1926 to Sainte-Angèle. The electric M&SC came to an end in October 1956 when the electric tracks over Victoria Bridge were removed and the electric cars made way for automobiles, trucks and buses.
