| Abstract |
The Scottish-born businessman John Richardson (c.1754-1831) was elected to the first Legislative Assembly, representing Montreal East, in 1792. He did not run for re-election in 1796 or 1800, but was elected to represent Montreal West in the 1804 and was defeated in the 1808 election. He was then appointed to the Legislative Council.
