|
Abstract |
This booklet outlines a series of proposed changes to the federal government's Official Languages Act, first enacted in 1969. As part of its official duties, the Standing Senate Committee on Official Languages studied the proposed changes and sought stakeholder comments. A total of 45 briefs were submitted to the Standing Committee, including briefs from the Quebec English School Boards Association, the Quebec Federation of Home & School Associations, the English-Language Arts Network, the Townshippers' Association, the Quebec Community Groups Network, and the Quebec English-Speaking Communities Research Network. The websites attached below contain the booklet outlining the government's proposed changes and the briefs presented to the Senate Standing Committee on Official Languages.
