La planification linguistique au Québec : un aperçu des lois sur la langue
|
Abstract |
An examination of the circumstances that led to the adoption in 1977 of Bill 101, the Charter of the French Language, and an examination of earlier language laws in Quebec. Among the causes cited by the author for the introduction of Bill 101 was the economic dominance of English in Quebec, and the propensity of immigrants to the province to integrate into the English-speaking community.
