Abstract |
The American-born Philemon Wright (1760-1839) established the settlement of Wrightville in 1800, which was re-named Hull and is now merged into the City of Gatineau, Quebec. Originally established as an agricultural settlement, the area under Wright's leadership soon became known for its timber extraction and mills.
