Aspects sociolinguistiques de la francisation d'une entreprise privée
Abstract
The study of the "francisation" process of an unnamed Montreal brewery, founded over 200 years ago. The process was instituted in the 1970s following the passage of Bill 101, the Charter of the French Language. The study presents an analysis of the social significance of changes in the level of French and English usage in key situations as indicators of changes of level in social relationships between persons and groups in the company.
