| Abstract |
Commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Lachute United Church, formed in 1925. The originas of the Lachute United Church dates to the arrival in the region of the Methodists around 1800 and the Presbyterians around 1819. The Presbyterians organized a community in 1832. The Methodists obtained their pastoral charge in 1865. In 1925, during the formation of the United Church of Canada, the two communities come together to form Lachute United Church.
