Title
Early Church Architecture in the Ottawa Valley: An Initial Investigation of Nineteenth Century Parish Churches
Abstract
A survey of the approximately three hundred Roman Catholic churches built in the Ottawa Valley, on both the Quebec and Ontario sides of the river, during the nineteenth century. The author maintains that these buildings provide information about the common spiritual and architectural threads that link the Catholic communities together. The author also comments on the differences between these churches and their Protestant counterparts.
