Immigrants and Minority Representations of Citizenship in Quebec
|
Abstract |
The authors point out that immigrants and ethnic minority groups in Quebec are often made to choose between competing visions of citizenship and belonging as espoused by the federal and provincial governments. The authors interviewed community activists from Montreal's ethnic minorities to explore how state intentions towards citizenship are perceived by these communities.
