| Abstract |
The Montreal-born Red Fisher (b.1926) started his career as a sports writer covering the Montreal Canadiens hockey team in 1954 for The Montreal Star newspaper. He remained a sports writer and the sports editor for the paper until it folded in 1979. He then went to work as a sports columnist covering the Canadiens for Montreal's The Gazette newspaper and remained in that position until his retirement in 2012.
