An Orientation Program for Community Lay Leaders: An Evaluation of a Board Orientation Course for Jewish Community Lay Leaders
|
Abstract |
An examination (circa 1970) of the Board Orientation Course, part of the four-stage program of community leadership training sponsored by the Allied Jewish Community Services of Montreal. Allied Jewish Community Services (known after 1992 as Federation CJA) was the central organization for the coordination, planning, budgeting, and financing of Jewish communal agencies in Montreal. The author found that the participants in the Board Orientation Course, most of whom were from high-economic status, were unrepresentative of many sectors of the Montreal Jewish community.
